It's one of the biggest reasons why Shrek V will explode unless trailers and reviews stink like ogre's swamp. In fairness for WDA, it was less to spite the girls but moreso to chase the Pixar/Dreamworks/Blue Sky dragon back in the early to mid 2000s. The romance female centric My Peoples got canned for Chicken Little, Chicken Little went from a father daughter story to an average Dreamworks C-lister with aliens and they even were going to make Pixar sequel knockoffs theatrically (the world will never see racist Woody or the weird romance Marlin and a Polar Bear), at one point Tangled was going to be a Shrek like comedy in which two teens (one of which played by Jack Black) are forced to save the fairytale characters of Rapunzel and her prince who were turned into animals.
