May 7 - 10, 2012 Weekday Numbers: AVENGERS 12.5 Thurs pg 61

Recommended Posts

I hate to be "that guy", but RTX does have a point, even if he's going too far with it. Four films in the top 10 had a better Monday drop than Avengers, something that didn't happen with Spider-Man. I'm thinking it's probably a spillover effect rather than Avengers being just "average" though. :)

I think this is perfectly acceptable if someone is seriously projecting DS to make 70 mill and TA to lose all it's female audience. I didn't call him a moron, I just said that perhaps he hasn't quite got the grasp of the nuances of box office. This is a tough gig for those who are considered neophytes at it. I simply pointed out that there are other things he should try mastering first. Chocolate chip cookies are delicious.

:P :P :P = Joking, B. ;)

It's the 8th best Monday ever.It just destroyed a weekend record. It fell 2% more than Spiderman did. How is it a "bad" number?

It's not, hence why I said "even if he's going too far with it." It's not as staggering as the weekend numbers we got, but it's still big.

Classic contrarian comment. You really don't think this will have a 2x multiplier? I think WOM is just a tad better than Watchmen.....

LOLI'm here since 4 days only but know how recognize a 2nd degree comment.

Good drop but I don't see how anyone can use this Monday number to make predictions for either its second weekend or its final gross. It was clearly still burning off demand on Monday. Monday-Thursday drop will be a better indicator of where it is going.
