@No Prisoners Shouldn't we give our answers in local currencies? I mean, with how volatile the yen has been lately, I'm sure that by the time Zoo's run is over (in months), the yen gross will be quite different than what it would have been now.

Either way, my answer is ¥10B in lc, $91 million in USD. A bit more than BH6 and the first animated movie to reach that mark since Frozen. I don't quite see it reaching SW7's gross (¥11.58B) at the moment.

yeah youre right. bom and others are pretty bad at reporting proper dollar amounts. I wouldve had to go through the dailies on the XR

OK everyone. Change you're prediction to Yen, edit youre original post, you can leave dollar amount but yen will the official currency for the contest. If you don't edit, I will base it on the average rate of 108. It was at 106.5-107.5 during GW and been at 109~ since. The current rate is 109.47  http://www.x-rates.com/graph/?from=USD&to=JPY&amount=1

Edit you're original post

How much admission did Zootopia do today?

Those are just the listed admissions, which I think works out to ~63% of the market. I usually just wait for @edroger3 to post his calculations, lol.

Wow, even among these leggy movies Zootopia stands out. It has the third-highest percentage made on its fifth weekend relative to its total gross up to that point, and Finding Nemo and the Last Samurai, the two ahead of it, both did it on a holiday weekend (in fact, on the same weekend; two movies that both ended up grossing over $100 million being released together is insane!). For some reason it's an incredibly leggy movie on the weekends, but not on the weekdays (currently down 10% from last Tuesday).

i love how, in the first two weeks, we were complaining about how Zootopia cannot keep their lead in tickets sold in the evening sessions.

now, as long as the first place isn't twice the number of Zootopia, Zootopia can still manage to catch up by the end of the day.

1400 showing 85% of last week. I assume deflated by yesterday's surge from field day.

Strengthened to 93.5% at the end, and in fact out-grossed last Tuesday after 7PM. The distorting effects of Monday should be fully worn off by today so we'll see what happens.

Looking at the upcoming schedule, Huntsman is opening Friday and the first one did decently, but if the rest of the world is any guide, it will suffer a heavy drop. Then June 1 is Deadpool and 64: part 2, taking advantage of the first of the month discount. The rest of June looks pretty bleak for the Hollywood movies.

14:00 numbers are in and something is wrong with Mimorin's calculation.

Mimorin's used the total number of last Wednesday as the base when calculating the growth percentage... hence the 32.6%.

Actual number at 14:00 last Wednesday is 10719... which means the correct percentage should have been 96.3%
