"Golden Compass" and "Narnia" say Hi.......

IF they think a third film will not make money, you be they will not make it. I suspect thoug, they will make the third but with  much smaller budget.

The 3rd is already done and will be released next March. The 4th (and final movie) is the one they probably won't do.

In this spectacular action-adventure inspired by the classic mythology of Egypt, the survival of mankind hangs in the balance as an unexpected mortal hero Bek [Brenton Thwaites] undertakes a thrilling journey to save the world and rescue his true love. In order to succeed, he must enlist the help of the powerful god Horus [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] in an unlikely alliance against Set [Gerard Butler], the merciless god of darkness, who has usurped Egypt’s throne, plunging the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. As their breathtaking battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens, both god and mortal must pass tests of courage and sacrifice if they hope to prevail in the epic final confrontation.

Le Vision Pictures, the studio group built around one of China’s most aggressive streaming video platforms, has acquired Chinese rights to Alex Proyas’ “Gods of Egypt” from Lionsgate–Summit.

The $140 million “Gods” is a fantasy actioner about a young thief who enlists the help of the ancient gods to bring his beloved back to life. The cast is headed by Gerald Butler,Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, Geoffrey Rush and Brenton Thwaites.

Le Vision also unveiled a 10 film production and distribution slate, which CEO Zhang Zhao said was the result of more than two years of development hell.

“We first opened an office here two and a half years ago. And for that time we did not do any deals, just development. “Bringing the results of this development – Chinese stories, tentpole, English-language movies – today,” said Le Vision Pictures CEO Zhang Zhao. Titles include “King of Kings,” “Turandot,” and “Peony Pavilion.”
