Sensing a possible split between the nerd type critics and the more traditional film critics. Probably going to end up around 65% on RT.

I think it lands in the 50s. John Carter got a 51%, for comparison's sake.

He watched TF5 at home. In what was definitely a poor quality copy. I don't think he cares lol.

I really don't.

Also most animated films look great in 3D, and I'm fine seeing them in 2D on TV. Good 3D isn't really a selling point for me.

Also @CJohn the thread title is amusing, but how about adding in "a jaw-droppingly beautiful and often delightfully exciting sci-fi adventure" -Forbes

"One of the most gorgeous science fiction movies ever made." -CraveOnline

"Valerian is easily Besson at his most imaginative since The Fifth Element" -ScreenCrush

"It's visually stunning, beautifully prescient in its humanist themes" -CinemaBlend

"As a purely psychedelic space opera, Valerian is indeed hard to beat for genre fans desiring a new take on the future." -Den of Geek

"the visuals, action sequences, general storyline, and immersive experience of the 3D are enough to make me recommend people go see the movie." -Nerdist

"“Valerian” manages to be both cutting-edge and delightfully old-school — the kind of wild, endlessly creative thrill ride that only the director of “Lucy” and “The Fifth Element” could deliver" -Variety

Holy Shit, this could end up being the worst reviewed comic book movie of the year so far. Exciting. Fun. Delicious.

In a year that brought so many 90-something-RT-scored CBMs, 70%-75 % is still awesome.
