I love when people trash the science of movies like Lucy & Interstellar, it almost look these people forgot the fiction part of the SF.

Avatar is Science Fiction

Star Wars is space fantasy

Hope this clears everything up.

I think Fifth Element and Lucy are about equal. Fifth Element is sprawling, glorious, stupid fun; Lucy is tight, deceptively smart pure pop. For what it's worth, Lucy has a higher metascore...by 9 points. Fifth Element had to grow into a sort-of classic; Lucy will grow as well.

The Shay barfed after watching Lucy.

And then barfed once again, checking its BO and seeing how many fools parted with their money to see it.

Mind you, that is the same Shay who likes saying that "80% of all people are just stupid, statistically". But it still took me by surprise, somewhat.

I saw this trailer in 3D before Passengers, 2ce.  It was mindless but a guilty pleasure, visually with the music.  Off the top of my head, the only other trailer I remember was Beauty and the Beast, and there were a lot more than that. I don't know if I will see it in theaters, but I am interested.

The $200 million sci-fi epic has analysts worried that a flop could torpedo his storied EuropaCorp, even as a new pact with STX provides breathing room (and an escape from troubled Relativity Media) for now.

Budget is really $200m, uh-oh.
