A Marvel Fanboy
EMPIRE has bigger name while TOTAL FILM has older name.
CJohn
Total Film failed in Portugal. It was here for 4 months or so and after that it ended. Empire is still here and it was always my favourite.
Fanboy
Empire by far.
Fanboy
To be fair though, I have only read one issue of Total Film.
acsc1312
I'd go with Empire. I've bought a couple of Total Film, but Empire is better written and has cooler features, I think. That and now they have an iPad app for the US
fishstick
I hate both because they have no credibility and pander to much to their favorite film-makers. I mena, neither had guts to admit what gigantic piles of shit were TPM, AOTC, TLB,etc. But I`ll pick Empire as worse cause they put Shitto in their Star Trek:Next Generation line up for 2004. That read`s now a damn good laugh but I still hate them for promoting that black hole of screen time. CoolioD1
I don't know, I've read some of both, and they're pretty much the same to me.
John Marston
both are great. Far better than any American movie magazine
Jack Nevada
I love both, but if I had to choose I'd go with Total Film. Its a bit more colorful and fun to read. Empire is classier, though, and has overall better reviews and articles. But then again, Total Film's dvd-section is much better than Empires. I also like my country's only movie magazine, Episodi. Its actually a damn good film publication with high quality articles and reviews.
SchumacherFTW
Empire. Eeeeeeeasily Empire. I've been a subscriber for two years now, and it's oodles better than Total Film. Their special features fantastic.
ddddeeee
I buy both. Empire's normally better for extras, I must have 4 or 5 TDKR posters by now.
Jack Nevada
I also sometimes buy SFX for the reviews. Too bad the rest of the magazine is just a huge Doctor Who circle jerk.
acsc1312
I think Total Film can be a little too "busy" with their stuff (at least from what I've bought). It felt like 40million things were on one page. Empire is a little more sleek (and had an amazing TDKR issue).
Jack Nevada
Oh yeah, Empires TDKR issue was ace.
JCS
Empire is better and the reviews are classier.
Darth Homer
Empire, of course. I still have fond memories of picking up my first issue back in '89. And they get props for not giving into mindless Lucas hate like so many film magazines (cough*SFX*)
