ID4(Wednesday) Numbers ASM($23.4M)

Recommended Posts

I also was expecting a better Wed. for it but I'm going to wait till after the weekend to hold judgement. If it can get around 150m for the 6 day, I'd say it's in good shape.

It would have to have a daily average of 22.5M for the remaining four days for that to happen. Edited by Jay Beezy

I wouldn't say 30% would be a disaster. If you look at non-weekend July 4s in recent years, the day after drops are anywhere from 25-40%. TASM dropping 30% would be in line with many other movies.

TASM would need around 35-40% jump on Friday to combat another 30%+ drop and I seriously doubt that's possible.

this is probably the best the american economy has been since the downturn in 07/08, look at gas prices, here in sc, its as low as $2.10, hasnt been that low since pre katrina

But not in CA, where prices are around $4/gallon. The most populous state is still enduring high prices, including homes (the average, while much lower than 2007, is still very high compared to other parts of the country). Plus, even with signs of the economy recovering a bit, people are cautious. They will spend here and there, but gone are the days of just giving kids $$ to see a movie several times a week.

That's My Boy is loosing close to 2,000 theaters :rofl:Rock of Ages and Abraham Lincoln are also loosing a huge amount of theaters.

Hefty drops all around. Surprisingly strong hold for TA in TC. :)

Sony's trying to figure out how much of Paramount's gross they can steal to fudge Thursday's numbers.

That is a whole new level of fudging. Oh Sony

Wow

Wow. So what is getting all those screens being freed up? A quick glance at that list shows well over 11,000 screens from those movies but the 2 new wide releases only total around 5,300. That still leaves about 6,000 screens unaccounted for and the new limited releases will barely make a dent in that number.
