Frozen OS thread

According to screendaily.com Frozen did $753.5m OS as of Yesterday

Is that as of Wednesday or Thursday?  Assuming Thursday, that's ~$755.5M going into the weekend.  Add in what looks to be around $12M, and we should be at 767.5M then?

Can Disney stop to make money for a while?

Purchase of Frozen's toys and gadgets in online store was limited at maximum two items for each order. Disney stores make a lottery for the sale of the few items available. On ebay Elsa and Anna related products are sold at five times the retail price. All this because until now Disney does not want to sell to other companies under license.

You know that it can actually reach $8M (according to BOM) just because of a change in exchange rates, even without earning the $80,000 it needs to get there? BOM numbers are completely useless because BOM converts the whole gross of a film (national currency) into dollars based on the exchange rate of the most recent weekend. But most of the money was earned on the film's first few weekends, not on the last weekend on which it remains on the chart (however, this is the exchange rate used). Again, inaccuracy, inaccuracy and -surprise- inaccuracy. The only milestones worth watching for are the ones achieved in national currency.

New Frozen's Box office facts.

More than doubled Tangled WW gross (with more less budget: 150M vs 260M).

Grossed in Japan more than Mr Peabody Overseas (164M vs 157M)

Grossed in Japan (much) more than Lego Movie in 52 non english language markets combined (164M vs 119M)

Grossed 290M In Japan+China+South Korea, only Avatar and Titanic do better.

In it's 26th week of release it ranks #5 in weekly WW grosses.

More coming soon ...

Will Frozen continue making money in Japan untill July?

I hope not because Maleficent comes then!

:mellow::blink:

Don't worry it will be gone by July. Avengers 2 should push it to second for Avenger's OW and it's all downhill from there.  (This is assuming Avengers has a similar release date in Japan and the US)
