redfirebird2008
Wasn't her original estimate for TA at $65m and it ended up at $80m? If TDKR is starting at $80-85m, that's a good spot. Could break Potter's $91m record if it has the kind of increase from early estimates that we witnessed with other films in the past.
Sims
It's still super early. The OD record remains in play.
MovieGuyKyle17
I have a feeling Nikki is blaming The Dark Knight Rises on the shooting, the way I read that last report
lancer1997
So...how many hours from now will we hear first estimates fridays' numbers?Would guess NIkki will update around 5, and then a decent number by 9-10 PM PST. So 7 hours before a solid number. But it will still probably be low. We'll get updates throughout the day from Gityesh or Nikki, or HR.
superduperm
Notice how Nikki doesn't say "Not a record" this time.100% solid proof that she hates Disney.
Sims
Rth could also give us some harder estimates later this evening.EDIT: In fact he's in this thread right now! Edited July 20, 2012 by Sims

It's evening/night business was way better than matinees indicated, because they weren't accounting for the fact that it was early May. That won't be the case with TDKR. Matinees should give a fairly decent evening projection.

Robertron
I think the night showings will be stronger, most of the showings here after 5pm are full of people.I hope they're full of people
Sims
Thanks for answers. Can somebody easily explain to me whats going on wiht 'Puerto-Rico'?It's a running gag here. Paramount most likely fudged TF2's 5-day opening to 200M with "numbers from Puerto Rico."
