Well I am dissapointed.

I was expecting this to be more gut-busting hilarious but instead I got bored. My audience was also very silence about the movie, except for a few hilarious bits here and there.

I am lowering my OW prediction to 145m.

It has no chance at that number Edited by Ethan Hunt

BTW, just saw it again: still fabulous. Really beautifully rendered, off the hook insane, and crowd-maddeningly hilarious.

(All of these severely lacking in recent Pixar schlock.)

You can quote me on that.

PS: There was some new BEAUTIFUL trailer of Pan attached. Will be a great movie.

That 600M number is crazy. Wow!

Movie was good. Not IO level amazing of course, but I laughed quite a bit. I can see what some critics are saying how minions work as side characters, as about halfway through the movie, kids in the theatre stopped laughing at a minion saying something silly, or falling over. At that point the film had to "try harder" for those laughs.

Not sure if this had been posted yet:

http://adage.com/article/media/minions-600-million-publicity-spree/299434/

Over $600 million was spent on the Minions' promotional push, $593 million of which came from various companies plugging the movie.

No wonder it broke records everywhere.

With that budget even Home would have broken records  ...

Yeah, but in the end is pure revenue. Those companies paid to have the Minions represent them so that is a huge win for the brand.
