Movies drop all time from sequels and it is not necessary sequel and what made the movie special the first time is gone.

One could argue few sequels are necessary.My opinion is that this is a gimmick franchise. The gimmick is to have old school action heroes, doing old school action stunts who just so happen to be traditionally considered...too old.The addition of fan favorite JCVD, Chuck Norris with extended roles for Willis and Arnold ensure that those who showed up for the first gimmick entry will turn back out in droves.
