Friday & Early Wknd Estimates (9/21/12): END OF WATCH Solid, everything else soft...

Recommended Posts

As expected, The Master is doing very well in the cities and it's being ignored everywhere else. Gotta give props to Weinstein for the balls to go wide right after an exclusive debut. Other indie studio names wouldn't have ever pushed it beyond 500 theaters.

Yet they probably would have driven it to the same gross. The Tree of Life, a film even less audience-friendly than The Master, made $13m while never being released in more than 237 theaters. It did that by having great PTA holds, and those holds happened because Searchlight knew where to expand it so it could actually make money. Weinstein could have done the same, but he just decided to release it everywhere... and in the end, The Master will finish with only several million more than TOL, if that.

RE5 is a gigantic bomb. McWeeny was right that it might just be the movie to kill the franchise.Dredd`s boxoffice is what I wished for I Frankenstein if that shitfest, that makes Manos the Hands of Fate look like Citizen Kane, wasn`t released DtD. This is totally humiliating. Dredd didn`t deserve this.

Look at the OS results before talking. It will end as the biggest RE movie of the franchise. The sixth movie is definitly happening.

I know why some people dont like RE 5 but i loved it and it definitely is not a bomb. They will make one final movie im sure.

The trailer and Tv Spots lead people to a very different movie from what it actually is.

Its not going DTV lol. Its just good ol' Fishnets

It isn`t going DtD now but by September 13 2013 they`ll see the wisdom of going DtD. That`s where it belongs. They didn`t push it back that far and into the deadest season of them all because it`s a diamond in a rough. Edited by fishnets
