4815162342
Just realized this pops into the AMC Lincoln Square down the 1 train tomorrow. Tempting to try and take advantage of the NYC weekend.
AniNate
I sometimes wonder if directors are told to just think of a random position to put their hands in for the photo

newknicksfan
Marty no no. overall yes but not right now. O. Russell is at his peak, while Marty isn't the Marty of old. I say the Coens though.
lilmac
Apparently Scorsese is going to direct a couple more and then retire. Perhaps Silence will finally get made. You know he's big-time when there is an AUTO-CORRECT function for Martin's last name.

dashrendar44
O'Russell better than Marty? Not even in a dream when American Hustle is like a Scorsese's retro-crime/drama exercise for dummies.(Paul Thomas Anderson has done that Marty's mock up in his career as well with Boogie Nights). O'Russell's best is past him. His truly best are his first movies until he hit big with Three Kings and then went totally demented and self-indulgent with Huckabees. Fighter is a run-of-the-mill Oscar whoring biopic. SLP is an inoffensive romcom. Even when Marty is sleepwalking or misfiring, his movies are still among Hollywood's best of the crop. TLK
O Russell is great at getting the best out of his actors but he is far from the greatest director in Hollywood. Coens, Tarantino, Marty and many more directors are better than him.
The Futurist
For this scene, DOR asked Paul McCartney to use a very famous song of his and Macca only accepted because he said he was a Jlaw fan. Cairo
For this scene, DOR asked Paul McCartney to use a very famous song of his and Macca only accepted because he said he was a Jlaw fan. That's not quite how the story went although close.

The Stingray
O'Russell said it himself that he puts characters over story. And it shows. He creates great characters, but it seems to be at the expense of the story. Edited December 13, 2013 by The Stingray
