The Adam West show was simply a reflection of what the comics were like at the time.

You don’t find articles written now that aren’t praises for Adam West and the Batman TV show. And rightfully so. With that said, that show did had a major negative impact with the character between the 70s and 80s. In a lot of ways, Frank Miller’s and Tim Burton’s Batman came as an answer to that and pushed for the opposite direction too far, influenced by Miller and Moore comics from the 80s.

I mean I’m looking forward to Blue Beetle more than Aquaman. What else is missing?

Not sure what you’re getting at with the Adam West comparison. Has anyone ever really accused that show of harming Batman’s reputation?

I  am a defender of the Adam West show, for the first season and a half ,it was damn funny...when was what it INTENDED to be. When the core writing staff left in a dispute over money in the second season, the show went into the garbage bin.

ANd yes, I think a camp version of Batman can be legitimage if it is well done. I agree it is unfortunate that that was the only bersion of Batman many people knew, but you can't blame the show for that.

The 1966 show actually now has been accepted by many fans, since it is no longer the dominant version of Batman, although htere are still a few who hate it for daring to poke fun at superheros.

Of course that is a problem I have with fandom in general nowdays:they take themsel ves too damn seriously, seem unable to laugh at themselves.

I don’t understand why you guys care about this stuff. It’s not like James Gunn’s career is going to take a hit because of this.

Its not necessarily that I care about it, its just breathtaking how insecure and toxic these DC man-babies really are and how they've been actively encouraged by some of its stars and directors for years now.  Ray Fisher literally trying to bait the new boss of DC on twitter is pure cringe and now Ayer is implying these clowns are 'misunderstood'.

With each passing day it becomes more and more clear that nuking the DCU/Snyderverse from orbit way the only way to be sure and turning this ship around.

The idea of nuking the Snyderverse from orbit and replacing it with a new universe seems to be partly why these fans are being the way they are. That’s another reason why I think they shouldn’t even continue to bother with interconnectivity, and just make more solo franchises like Matt Reeves’ Batman. By all means, put the Snyderverse to bed, but why bother trying to replace it at this point?

What does it mean though? I mean I like The Rock, I bought the film digitally - not even this year’s worst decision - and while I kinda dig Hawkman, I wouldn’t be mad if I never saw those characters again. So yay? Idk, all that grabbed my attention there was the word multiverse.
