While you are speaking about oil, it just dropped 5%. Wonder if it will hit $26.

anywhere here is a buy. More than 10% of the worlds oil is from fracking and oil sands. It costs over $35 a barrel to produce. They sell futures on their production over a year out. So they will stay open for now to fill orders at prices over $45 a barrel on contract they sold months ago. They will not sell future contracts at a loss. The lack of sellers will drive the price back up or they will shut down production. This happened in 09. It got down to $30 and everyone was saying its going to $15. the same people were saying $200 when it was at all time highs in the $140s just 7 months prior(like CBO going to 11B in 2 years). It snapped up to $50 in 3 months. Most people go with current direction cause that's all they can see. Successful traders sell into the irrational exuberance  and buy when its heading into the abyss, predicting the unseen. This is why I say Chinese BO will grind to halt. Most are saying the growth has no end in site for the economy and the BO and are emotional about it in my thread. That's when the opposite happens. Read "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds".

CBO passes dom by 2017?  NFW.  $100 donation(10 month premium account) bet it doesn't happen to $10 it does. 10-1 odds, Any takers?

AOU;s chart does not include the first 3 days. Just to compare Saturday onward. AOU sold 500mY in its first 3 days. It had mixed WOM and all that burn off and still tracking ahead. It continues to lose ground to T5.  Since todays bump was just 20% it may bump less than 50% on Saturday. Presales are indicating that

Lol at screen daily and deadline saying SW7 will cross 150m dollars on OW

Over-expectations. The first time I watched SW7 in theaters I was just dumbfounded, as a huge fan of the original trilogy(prequels were okay...), I have to say I am pretty disappointed and I actually hope that SW7 don't do so well because I am afraid people might be turned away by the lack of quality in SW7 and choose not to watch Rogue One or Ep8.

WOM in China for SW7 is now very negative, and people claiming never to watch another SW movie again, I am really fearful for Rogue One and Ep8 now. SW7 did not successful introduce the franchise to Chinese audiences, and infact may deter audiences.. =(

Yeah, eat more Transformers then. People always receive what they really wish.

Please dont mention oil on a film forum site, reason coz i lost a very good job last year, due to the drop in oil price, and the American owned company i worked for made large layoffs in the UK. :(

Back to the film world, its quite staggering the number of screenings a film can lose daily in China, from this Thursday to Friday alone SWTFA lost around 12,000 screenings! :o

you lost me at hello.... again

what numbers did you want? just the BO? it either wasn't released or it was just a few million im sure

There are no numbers for Terminator 3 though it was released in China in August 2003. Terminator Salvation made 109.6M in 2009 according to CBOO or 112M according to Douban.

It was the 14th highest grossing film of the year, #7 imported film behind 2012 (466M), Transformers 2 (428M), Ice Age 3 (157M), Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince (156M), GI Joe (137M), and Night at the Museum 2 (121M).

I wonder what aspects of Star Wars: TFA that Chinese audience didn't like besides the remake of A New Hope?

Among the GA, the film is quite confusing and not emotional (perhaps even shallow) due to the lack of understanding about references to early films or even Star Wars concepts in general (what are Jedis, the Force, etc). They also don't know or care who the older characters are and what they achieved in the past, and the context about present conflicts is not easy to grasp without prior knowledge.
