druv10
Actually if you take out the midnights(previews) then China did better than domestic !!! Yeah, at this point, I think 300M is happening in China. Since it has risen with every update, I fully expect actuals to be over 400M Yuan, probably close to 410M. Just shocking.

druv10
Now I'm really interested in seeing if TA2 can replicate this kind of BO or how close can it get.
eXtacy
If it had opened the normal Friday, would this had still broken the previous record?
druv10
If it had opened the normal Friday, would this had still broken the previous record? Yes, it would've broken TF4 OD and OW record.
eXtacy
Yes, it would've broken TF4 OD and OW record. How can you be so sure? Almost all openers do a lot more business Saturday/Sunday then their opening Friday in China. Also it reduced the only weekend day to one. I am not so sure. Also it reduced the only weekend day to one. I am not so sure. It more than doubled TF4's OD so I'm pretty sure about that. With a proper weekend, FF7 would have beaten TF4's OW record as well.

druv10
FF7 should be locked to be #1 foreign movie this year I wouldn't use the word "locked" especially after this unprecedented OD. WIth BO you never know. Nobody saw this coming. What is your current predictions for FF7 and TA2? Edited April 12, 2015 by druv10

marveldcfox
This is mind blowing. No way in hell Avengers 2 beats FF7 in China. Frankly even in India, FF7 was the most anticipated Hollywood movie. TA2 is close second. TA2 might beat FF7 in India if the other films releasing around it flop.
Neo
I am sure we will see 100m OD in not too distant future. Avatar 2?
