16/2 - 122.7 million rmb

17/2 - 140.2 million rmb

18/2 - 175.9 million rmb

19/2 - 209.9 million rmb

20/2 - 229.1 million rmb

21/2 - approx. 206 million rmb at 1727hrs (while DC2 is approx 220 million rmb.)

Tomorrow will be exciting to see if ORS can finally take over as #1.

Welcome back, where ya been? Last time we talked was in July 2015 about whether or not CBO would slow down.

ORS PS is bigger than DC2 for tomorrow. Will over take MH2 gross next week.

Who knew MH2 would take 3rd on the holiday.  May fall short of 2.5b.

At least:

DC2 3b

ORS 2.6b

MH2 2.4b

ORS could leg out close to DC2

ORS is fudging massively, while DC2 and TMK3 are also fudging, no direct evidence about MH2 though.

The official responses from the DC2 and ORS can be found here in Chinese.

In summary, DC2 apologised and ORS requested netizens to report if they found some cinemas fudging data.

My personal view is that there is no need for ORS to fudge. It is the best reviewed film by critics and audience. Some even declared it as a milestone movie. Personally, I am genuinely surprised that the censorship board did not request the film to cut away all the gruesome scenes. Probably the most adrenaline pumping Chinese film in a while.

@POTUS It’s been that long since I last posted? Thank you for the welcome.

21st Feb (est)

DC2 ¥292m/¥1.889b

ORS ¥264m/¥1.191b

MH2 ¥135m/¥1.700b

BB ¥48.4m/¥411m

MK3 ¥27.3m/¥613m

Est total for the day: ¥782m

That article did not say DC2 was fudging.  The article is saying DC2 is wondering where their box office went, if their box office was been taking a hit by other's fudging.

How sad, why do they feel the need to do that when the film is performing phenonmenonly ?

Nearly every local film fudged more or less since last year, especially those distributed by BONA including ORS. Distributers don't care about whether the film is phenomenal——The Ex-file 3 which has an incredible run finishing ¥2b isn't an exception, nor is DC2 or ORS.

@ymblcza, how trustworthy is tieba these days? I used to visit them for insider news on game shows, etc. But I also noticed that more and more posts are using the site to spread conspiracy theories.

If this is indeed true, then there is really no point tracking box office in China. Time to say goodbye again :)

Tieba is only an unconstrained forum like BOT. But despite what the users said, these screenshot from ticket selling APPs is convincing imo. And the box office fudged makes up a low proportion for most films.

Have fun.:D
