Please Stop guessing just by your personal opinion without any evidence

We import many US military movie, not all the kind of movie banned

It’s not really a guess. It’s plain obvious why Top Gun Maverick failed to pass censorship in China.

The movie was partly sponsored by Tencent and Paramount even offered to remove both the Japanese and Taiwanese flags from the jacket to appease Chinese authorities.

However, still that wasn’t good enough and as a result Tencent was forced to completely disassociate themselves from the project because they didn’t want to offend the powers that be.

Since the beginning of the US-China cold war in 2018, China has been clamping down hard on US cultural influence and promotion of US military.

Wait, I thought there's a limit every year. This is great news!

im guessing China is temporarily lifting Hollywood quota in order to boost domestic consumption and calm the economy. Just don’t expect it to last. Once there is a steady line up of domestic movies i fully expect the barrier to be put back in place.

NWH could've made something around ¥2 billion here. A opening with ¥1 billion and 2.0* multiple.

If NWH release this year with BP2.and Antman is not gonna do that, will do that in normal condition

This outcome is expected since the day Iger has back in town, he also has a good network and relationships in mainland China. However, this can't be a guarantee for other films, and other studios.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Iger to be honest. Iger just happened to be in the right place at the right time. All Hollywood studios will have an equal opportunity of releasing their blockbusters in China so long as they don’t insult Chinese culture and/or its people.

None of the other studios were banned though.
