Early Friday est

HA 60-65m/10m

JW 20-25m/3.5m

SA 3.5m/575k

Is that considered good or bad? I remember SPL2 opened to the same number and people said it's a good opening.

If HA breaks out JW is likely to get even less showtimes now.

Mite come in at the mid 50s today. Not a huge number. Will have to see WOM and tomorrows bump. Not looking like a 1b+ yuan hit though as many expected

JW has enough screens. I am not sure how many locals will open next weekend, but it will make > 200m.

Should get to 200m on sunday. > 215m likely gor the run

SPL 2 is a kind of gangster movie, 65m+ for its OD is a huge success.

HA is a comedy movie with big name director  & casts.

Justin Lin bring Zhao Wei, Huang Xioaming & Tong Dawei to hollywood for their shooting. At least 700m+ (mostly 1B) was expected for its box office.

60-65m OD is not a good sign.

as SA is nearing its run, how would you rate its run!? Very good?

Yeah, pretty strong holds throughout its run despite losing a lot of screens. Seems like members of the forum had thought it would've made about $40-50M based on presales, but disaster flicks are still mega popular in China as is Dwayne Johnson.

Hollywood Adventures may not cross $100M, July box office will be down from last year.

Could be the first down 10%+ month in who knows how many years

Hollywood has nothing big out next april. That could be down 50%

The audience is getting fickle it seems. The next 12 months will be interesting. Some big months to beat

Next April has BVS, good chance of releasing in April (or making most of its money then if it doesn't).

China (just like everywhere else) has always had films that made less than expectations or didn't match international popularity.
