By Friday 22:00pm, July 27th, Ice Ages leads all with a solid but not extraordinary more 35M yuan ($5.5M+) opening. Second biggest opening day for an animation ever as expected. 3 days opening weekend looks to be around 140M yuan, which falls short of our bold forecast on Monday but safely sets a new opening industry record for animation film ever. (KFP2, around 110M yuan via two days). And this opening, 500M yuan ($80M) should be happen after all is said and done.

Lorax, on the other hand, is beyond bomb territory, with doing just less than 8% of IA4. Its opening day should be less than 3M yuan. looks to do even much worse than Pixar's Brave, which bombed in China in June with just 30M yuan total.

(Well, to be honest, my revised prediction for IA4 was around 160M yuan OW and 535M yuan total. Pretty close to what it is actually, I would say. )

Dictatorship is a form of government. It's not automatically good or bad just because Western people seem to prefer democracy. But hypocrisy is a universal moral flaw.

Saturday IA4 (around 50M+ yuan) looks for a 50% jump from Friday. A bigger jump (60~70% usually) could have happened if not in July (school holiday inflated Friday) and the Olympics.

3 days opening should still be more than $20M though (around $21M).
