San Diego winners announced tomorrow and they tend to be one of the more free-spirited critic groups. For example last year they gave Director to Drive, Actress to Brit Marling, Animated Film to Arthur Christmas, Ensemble to Deathly Hallows 2.

ZDT's sweep is more annoying to me because of the massive sense of THL deja vu that I'm experiencing. Do we really need to award Bigelow again for such a thematically similar film?

Thank you!!! My point exactly. Why does this woman need to be showered with awards again for staying right in her comfort zone and doing what she did last time? I don't care how good it may be, and I'm positive critics are over praising it just like they did THL. Edited by HobbitMan89

@AwardsDaily: Someone asked me, how do you do this shit day in and day out for 14 years? It's easy from Feb to Sep, I get to live my life w/o working.Right, cause I'm sure the job is soooo tough from October to March

Knowing her she probably spends half of her life from October to March in a shrink's office. ;) Award's season is fairly hard on her. :P

I can relate to everything you say but this is overpraise for patriotic reasons. critics aren`t imune to it, just like critics who obviously are giving TH a pass because they don`t want a stain in LOTR legacy are opting to submit mixed reviews as fresh. It`s true. And this is Bin Laden. That hits the spot.I relate to your rant because I think THL is one of the emptiest, most overrated movies I`ve seen but I can understand why they flipped for it. They want patriotic movies to happen because they are usually boxoffice poison unless it`s some really embarrassing piece of Americana popcorn. It`s liberal thing since most flim critics are liberal. lets have a balanced, low-jingioist take on current politics (aka opposite of how Tea Party propaganda would like it) and lets make it a hit. It also doesn`t help ZDT case that sweeps are annoying in general especially when nobody but critics saw the movie so they are, like, we know something you don`t and you just have to trust us. People like different movies for different reasons. Patriotism is as good of a reason as any other. ZDT will not win Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival but AMPAS membership is overwhelmingly American so it makes sense that a movie like this may win Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars.

Surprised to see Les Mis in here as it is a UK production. (Though by definition if they included Les Mis, Skyfall should've made it as well.)
