75Live
Plus a lot of DC Comic/Nolan loonies read the LA Times. :rotfl:
zlazer
Plus a lot of DC Comic/Nolan loonies read the LA Times. According to more than 2,600 respondents to a Times online survey Joss Whedon's get-the-band-together take on the iconic superheroes was the most overpraised feature film of 2012. The sometimes-quippy, sometimes-geeky save-the-world-fest garnered a whopping 85% of the votes WHAAAAT lol Edited January 4, 2013 by zlazer
Lordmandeep
Lol the fact that TDKR did not get a small % of the vote, makes the poll suspect...
75Live
I can even say that The Avengers is overrated, but the percentage does seem a bit high
Lordmandeep
I can see it being voted the most overrated but by 85% is silly with TDKR absent... Many people found TDKR bloated and too dark...

Lordmandeep
If so it would have a better multiplier ^^^
zlazer
If so it would have a better multiplier ^^^It has a better multi then hunger games, so not to shabby at 2.8
Lordmandeep
It is a good multipler but not comparable to TA and THG as they opened to max potenital ^^^That is why I think even if the opening was not hit by tragic events it would have not made way more domestic.Something like 180/460-470 at most... Michael Gary Scott
Im just saying WOM was good not great. Avengers had great WOM.
Lordmandeep
I think a trim down by 10-15 mins, a more simplier story (A complex part is great but here it was just too much) and some more dark humour like TDK would have helped out a lot... ecstasy
LOL @ the L.A. Times poll. Was the Avengers the only blockbuster on it? I see stuff like Project X and Prometheus don't know why those movies would be on the list.

Bane was diminished greatly and what little, if anything, Cottilard added didn't come remotely close to offsetting the damage done to his character.
#ED
TDKR had an A cinema score. I'm pretty sure WOM was good with just many "It's not as good as TDK" comments.
zlazer
A lot of plp here make it out that Tdkr bombed, is critically panned and awful w.o.m
baumer
My biggest problem with TDKR is that Cottilard should have killed Bruce during or after sex. Game over. Done.

Done.I tend to not get worked up over stuff like that. If I did, I would have to hate almost every Bond movie ever. But I still didnt think her character added anything of value, let alone enough to warrant cutting the legs out from under Bane as a character. Heavily weaponed as it is, they could have blown him to smitherins. (Bat could even let Catwoman press the button).
John Marston
Audiences certaintly liked TDKR but I don't think anyone found it anything great or special. I think there is little doubt audiences liked Avengers better
