Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted October 19, 2013 Founder / Operator Share Posted October 19, 2013 I just can't see TITE going over that well with a predominantly older, more conservative group. Your post is the first on this page, so I have no idea how TITE is even in the discussion of Best Picture right now... and it's a fun challenge trying to think of reasons why...

stripe
I still can't believe how amazing the race will be this year. A new contender has emerged. Can you imagine the blood in a five field BP race?

MrPink
Universal is pushing award screenings for OBLIVION and FAST 6. Well pack up the best picture race. It's going to Fast 6. I mean, Vin Diesel assisted the Rock with a clothesline death blow. You can't beat that.

DAR
Was there not enough films for 2014?
TLK
Most of the movies that are being pushed to 2014 won't be Oscar contenders next year. They are being pushed because they are not Oscar contenders in the first place. Foxcatcher, The Monuments Men and Grace Of Monaco are all finished products but the producers/distributors don't think they are Oscar worthy. Sims
Never bought Foxcatcher, Grace, or Monuments' chances in the first place.
stripe
Foxcatcher had good hype. Maybe Monuments would had a chance if competition were less strong
4815162342
Monuments is being moved because the effects won't be ready. Clooney also said in an interview explaining the move that MM was intended to be a commercial film for mature audiences rather than an awards film. Cmasterclay
I think Foxcatcher was a legit contender, but I never saw Monument's Men being there. Mediocre trailer, and early test screenings say it is quite average
