Ezen Baklattan
I know 12 Years A Slave seems like the front runner at this point, but I wonder if it's peaking too early. The only thing is that I don't know what could replace it. American Hustle, maybe?
Blankments
I think it'd be great if somehow Her won. It looks delightfully modern for an Academy that every year seems more and more stuck in the past

The Panda
Critics don't seem to be over the moon about it. I'm thinking Wolf is the one obstacle now. Gravity is honestly another obstacle, i'm currently thinking it's going to be a three horse race as of right now. As for nominees, i'd really like it if Fruitvale could get a slot, ESPECIALLY if knocked out the mediocre Butler. pieman
The Wolf of Wall Street doesn't have a chance. Gravity can't win because it's so out of step with the Academy's more traditional taste and really lacks any greater subtext or depth. Impact
Well I do have a friend who is a member of the Academy-his current pick is Mr. Banks.
yjs
yeah I think we shouldn't oversee Mr. Banks. it could pull out Shakespeare in Love which didn't come in to the Oscar race till very late and changed the whole picture while everyone had thought it was Ryan that would win.

The Stingray
Anyone else starting to think American Hustle has a chance for an upset?
AniNate
Anyone else starting to think American Hustle has a chance for an upset? Nah. Not "important" enough to overtake 12 Years.
CoolioD1
Anyone else starting to think American Hustle has a chance for an upset? It might be between that and Slave. Both get the most globe nominations, the only sag ensemble nominees that have a chance of winning (as impact likes to point out, braveheart is the only movie to win without that)
4815162342
Seems like a 3-way currently with 12, Gravity, and Hustle. But you never know how things shape up with the DGA and PGA (or even BFCA).
Jack Nevada
Hmmm, don't know about Gravity. 12 Years a Slave with a strong possibility of a Hustle upset.
The Dark Alfred
Hustle is also riding on the success of Silver Lining and the love for JLaw, O'Russell is overdue.

Jake Gittes
After seeing 12YAS, the last awards it deserves to win are Screenplay and Score. Very good film, but it's really the direction that drives it, not the writing, and Zimmer winning for his half-assed two tracks here would be just embarrassing.
