Sorry for the delay guys. The last three (or two?) days have been incredibly busy. I was working on April and then, bam, some stuff went down, then some more stuff, and I never got a chance to come back on until today. So sorry guys. But I will continue. I promise, I promise.

April 1-3: "L.A. Noire Guns To First"

In a solid Easter frame, "L.A. Noire" led with a great 28.5 million haul. The film averaged an A rating on Cinemascore. Males made up approximately 58% of the viewings. Meanwhile, comedy "Bounty Hunters From Heaven" opened with a solid 20.3 million, finishing third. The film was not off to as good a start as its fellow opener, critically as well, for it averaged a B- rating. "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" continues to plow along with another 22 million this week. And last week's openers "Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise" and "Senior Citizens" rounded out the top 5 with 12.6 and 8 million respectively.

April 8-10: "Archivist Unravels Clue For The Top"

"The Archivist' pulled out all the stops and advanced into first place with a solid 19.2 million opening, falling in line with studio and insider expectations. The movie received fairly well reception among audiences. The other opener "Silent Invasion 2: Revelation" felt like a rehash of its predecessor, and audiences were turned off by the lack of originality apparent in the advertisements. Consequently, the film didn't budge much from its predecessor, falling shy with 11.9 million. "L.A. Noire" continues to blaze by, down only 35% in its second frame for 18.5 million. And "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" continues to dominant as the year's biggest blockbuster (or soon to be, once it tops "Pokemon") as it added another 13.4 million in its fourth week of release. "Bounty Hunters from Heaven" rounded out the top 5 with just shy of 10 million in its second week.

[*]The Archivist: 19,212,833 (NEW) [*]L.A. April 15-17: "No Surrender For L.A. Noire"

With the only new opener being a weak release, "L.A. Noire" climbed back into the top spot. The crime thriller was down a remarkable sub-30% for an additional 13.1 million. The sole opener of the week, "No Surrender", got more blahs and screams, opening to an unsatisfactory 11.5 million haul in second. "The Archivist" topped it on Saturday and Sunday both, finishing just shy of "Surrender's" weekend gross with 11.3 million. "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" added another sub-9 million to its healthy running tally, while "Bounty Hunters From Heaven" added another 5.6 million. "Silent Invasion 2: Revelation" plummetted nearly 60% for a weak second weekend tally of 4.9 million.

    [*]L.A. Noire: 13,140,430 (3rd week) -28.87% [*]No Surrender: 11,457,118 (NEW) [*]The Archivist: 11,251,035 (2nd week) -41.44% [*]Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: 8,664,453 (5th week) -35.59% [*]Bounty Hunters From Heaven: 5,594,808 (3rd week) -43.22% [*]Silent Invasion 2: Revelation: 4,886,342 (2nd week) -58.91% [*]Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Promise: 4,844,725 (4th week) -33.86% [*]Isolation: 3,643,013 (7th week) -18.71% [*]Senior Citizens: 2,830,122 (4th week) -38.91% [*]The Screwtape Letters: 980,967 (6th week) -46.61%

April 22-24: "My Little Pony Casts Magic"

It was another weak frame, which gave the two openers enough room to take the lead. More impressive of the two was "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic". The film, based off the toy products and the growing TV show, was the first major (or minor?) family film in a while, so it opened to a solid, in-line-with-expectations 16.2 million. But horror thriller "Chopping Mall" didn't fare as well. The film about a horde of human-killing robot security guards in a mall didn't latch on to audiences, debuting with a measley 10.2 million. "L.A. Noire" was down to third but held well once again, adding 9 million. Last week's opener "No Surrender" was down over 50% for 5.6 million.

[*]My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: 16,212,833 (NEW) [*]Chopping Mall: 10,220,328 (NEW) [*]L.A. April 29-May 1: "Sir Roger The Alien Brings The Impact"

While it fell remarkably short of its predecessor's opening bow, "Sir Roger the Alien 2" still posted the highest opening weekend in a month. The comedy/satire flick debuted to 29.1 million. The opening was on the lower end of expectations, but it gave the box office a bit of a boost to sustain audiences until the high rollers come around next month. Of those polled, 77% said they saw the previous film in theaters. "My Little Pony" fell to second, down 42% for a solid 9.4 million. And "L.A. Noire" added another solid 5.8 million.

[*]The Impact of Sir Roger the Alien 2: 29,137,045 (NEW) [*]My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: 9,364,532 (2nd week) -42.24% [*]L.A. And summer begins!

May 6-8: "Last Ditch Effort Finishes First"

Historical actioneers don't typically fair too hot on this summer kick-off, but that wasn't the case for "Last Ditch Effort." The well-received historical epic debuted to a remarkable 63.5 million, in line with studio expectations. The opening was boosted by the fact that it was the first major blockbuster since "Uncharted" a month and a half ago. Critics and audiences alike prasied the film, giving it an A rating on Cinemascore. Meanwhile, comedy satire "The Impact of Sir Roger the Alien 2" was down a mightly 56% for 12.9 million in its second frame. Its ten day total stands at less than half of its predecessor's through the same point. "My Little Pony" continues to chug along, adding another healthy 5.6 million, while both "L.A. May 13-15: "Wonder Woman A Box Office Wonder"

At first, it appeared that there wasn't much hype for "Wonder Woman." Critics scoffed at it, and early audience polls suggested fans were turned away. But the flick hit it off well, managing to rake in 51.1 million in its opening week. While it didn't reach phenomenal heights, it fell above most expectations, so it's off to a very solid start. Musical "Avenue Q" also opened slightly higher than most expecations. The well-received musical scored third place with a solid 18.8 million, and word-of-mouth is positive. Positive WOM also helped "Last Ditch Effort" hold fairly well. The historical epic was down less than 50% in its second frame, making an additional 34 million. It has already eclipsed the 100 million milestone in less than 10 days of release.

[*]Wonder Woman: 51,122,008 (NEW) [*]Last Ditch Effort: 33,951,109 (2nd week) -46.51% [*]Avenue Q: 18,826,599 (NEW) [*]The Impact of Sir Roger the Alien 2: 6,478,208 (3rd week) -49.80% [*]My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: 3,552,834 (4th week) -36.62% [*]L.A. May 20-22: "Mysteries Goes Beyond Expecations, Sir Thimes Has His Times"

It was a phenomenal weekend. Both of the openers debuted well ahead of expecations. Sci-fi "Mysteries of the Beyond" picked up pace over the past month, with an interesting advertising campaign that played on the suspense of the movie. The criticall acclaimed sci-fi garnered increasing interest of the last couple of weeks, and it opened to a remarkable 72 million, the highest 3-day opening weekend of the year so far. The film garnered an A rating on Cinemascore. Males accounted for 63% of the viewings. Meanwhile, "Sir Thimes Time" had the benefit of being the year's first major family animated film. The well-received picture swam above expecations with a remarkable 60.4 million debut in second. The film also received an A rating on Cinemascore. "Wonder Woman" was down a harsh 56% for 22.4 million, enough for third, while "Avenue Q" held much better, down under 45%. The musical comedy scored fifth place with 10.6 million. May 27-30: "Audiences Gaga For Wicked, New Species Bombs"

While "Sir Thimes Time" managed to pull into first place this week, posting a remarkble 46 million over the 4-day, "Wicked" garnered a lot of attention as well. The movie adaptation of the hit musical, inspired by the "Wizard of Oz", debuted well above expectations, posting a remarkable 44.5 million over the four-day period. The musical was very well received by fans of the Broadway musical, and it attracted a mostly female audience, who accounted for 65% of the viewings. As for the hot new blockbuster of the week, "The New Species", success was unachieveable. The sci-fi/horror tanked with 36 million over its first four day. The lowest projections often claimed it could hit that makr in its first 3 days, yet it suffered from fatigue over the weekend,a nd its reception is none too strong. Meanwhile, "Mysteries of the Beyond" continues to wow. The sci-fi was down to 40 million, snatching third and well on pace for a remarkable final total.
