cozmeesah
So in a sentence what is this series about? Never watched/read.You need a lot more than one sentence. But, in a nutshell, the fight for power & survival in a medieval-ish separate world. Mostly humans with somd fantastical elements thrown in. That description in no way does it justice though. cozmeesah
From Wikipedia:The story of A Song of Ice and Fire takes place on the fictional continents Westeros and Essos, with a history of thousands of years. The series is told in the third person by point of view characters, whose number reaches 31 by the fifth novel. Three stories become interwoven: the chronicling of a dynastic war for control of Westeros by several families; the rising threat of the dormant cold supernatural Others dwelling beyond an immense wall of ice on Westeros' northern border; and the ambition of Daenerys Targaryen, the exiled daughter of a king murdered in a civil war shortly before her birth, to return to Westeros with her fire-breathing dragons and claim her rightful throne. Ariadne
I hate to be shallow, Ciarin Hinds is a great actor, but I was hoping for someone better looking for Mance. Ah well.

cozmeesah
It's most likely Tara Fitzgerald who plays: Stannis Baratheon's wife, Queen Selyse, aka total bitch
Jim Shorts
Anyone planning on getting this blu-ray set complete with dragon egg? Edited November 19, 2012 by Jim Shorts
cozmeesah
Nah, I already have the Blu-Ray set of Season 1 and need the $$$ more than I need the redundant BR discs and dragon egg that will just sit and collect dust.
Jim Shorts
You mean you wouldn't carry the egg around with you at all times?
cozmeesah
I would, but my purse is heavy enough as it is. I'm afraid the strap couldn't take it.
DeeCee
The first thing I would do is build a bonfire and walk into it with the egg.
Jim Shorts
I smell a lawsuit. I dont think HBO thought of that when they produced this blu-ray set.
