  1. Disney dumped The Finest Hours, plain and simple. Late January release, little to no marketing It had no awards prospects which is basically the final nail in the coffin.
  2. Im assuming Universal is taking these two right because of their new dreamworks deal? Seems like a dumb decision to me, both of those films have huge potential.
  3. One of Coco/Perfect Match is likely moving, Lionsgate isnt releasing two urban leaning films on that date. I think the Other Side of the Door should move as well, 10 CLoverfeild Lane will be the go-to thriller/horror film and probably wins the entire weekend.
  4. Her career is strange. She's being marketed like a teen star but her fanbase aren't really teens. Look at imdb and you'll see what im talking about.
  5. This is going to do slightly better than In The Heart of the Sea. 15m OW/40m
  6. I dont think Lonely Island is going to be huge competition. Do people even know what that is? Universal might move that one from its current date. Neighbors will have 4 weekends before Central Intelligence hits, that should be enough time to make most of its money. Predicting 40m/125m
  7. Steinfeld isn't the first child star to get one great performance from a director and then have mediocre subsequent performances. It happens sometimes, look at Abigail Breslin. Luckily, Saorsie Ronan actually proved that her nomination/performance wasn't a fluke.
  8. She's not. Probably even less popular. Most people didnt like her in Pitch Perfect 2, the singing was alright but the acting.......... Now she's trying the popstar route.
  9. Moretz isnt having much luck as a teen actress. If I Stay did alright but Carrie bombed and The 5th Wave looks like it's going to bomb as well. She hasn't quite caught on with teen girls like Shaliene Woodley or even Kristen Stewart did. I find it interesting how Hollywood is still trying to make her happen.
  10. 1/22-1/24 Dirty Grandpa-13m The 5th Wave-11m The Boy-8m 1/29-1/31 Kung Fu Panda 3-45m The Finest Hours-15m Fifty Shades of Black-7m Jane Got a Gun-2m 2/5-2/7 Hail Caesar- 24m The Choice-12m Pride and Predjudice and Zombies-9m 2/12-2/14 Deadpool-48m Zoolander 2-40m How to be Single-18m
  11. 13 hours did about as well as it could considering it's not an awards season player and had no real movie stars.
  12. I like the trailer alot and will definitely see it. But this has a weird release date, sharing with 4 other wide releases (Brothers Grimsby, The Other Side of the Door, Coco, and The Young Messiah) Squished in between Zootopia and Allegiant and also has to contend with Superman Vs Batman, two weeks later. It doesn't have alot of breathing room. Although supposedly the budget was only 5 million dollars, and the film should easily open in the mid-teens atleast. But that's a far cry from the first Cloverfield's stunning 40m OW in January '08.
  13. Doesn't change the fact that starring in Star Wars doesn't guarantee a hot career. Hayden Christensan is another good example.
  14. probably not alot for he time being, seeing as how shes preoccupied with a franchise. It's anyone's guess what her career is going to look like at this point, the only one from the original trio that had a hugely successful career after SW was Ford. She runs the risk of being typecast. Oscar Issac and Adam Driver were already getting lots of work before this, and will probably continue afterwards. Issac has X-men Apocolypse, and Driver is a co-lead in Scorseses' Silence. Im not sure about John Boyega yet either, he does have a role in the new Tom Hanks movie though.
  15. Star Wars TFA: 41m The Revenant: 30m Daddy's Home: 13.9m The Hateful Eight: 8.1m The Big Short: 7.7m Joy: 7.3m Sisters: 7m Alvin: 6m Concussion:4.6 m Point Break: 3m
