  2. The schooling system in the US allows a person to study whatever they want to be: a librarian, an artist, a celloist, a social worker, a mechanics, a journalist, and so on. Schools in Asia tend to focus more on science, math, engineering, and business. The focus is just different culturally.
  3. From eiga (https://eiga.com/ranking/) Aladdin: 2.5 million admission, 3.585 billion yen or ~$33 million MIBI: 275 million yen or $2.53 million for the 2-day weekend, aiming for 1.5 billion yen total ($13.8M). KOTM: 1.5 million admission, more than 2.2 billion yen or $20.24 milllion
  4. Why do people think SLOP2 is a flop? Yeah, it lost more than half of the OW of SLOP1, but it will still likely make $100M+ profit. So, maybe not 500m profit, but decemt enough.
  5. Aladdin Monday: 109.4k admission vs 81.6k (last week). So, +34% vs, last week. So, it is doing very, very well. Of course Aladdin is geared towards family more compared to Parasite, so it would fall harder during weekdays.
  6. Hello... Deadline's report today on DP and SLOP2 preview number: School is increasingly out for the summer with ComScore reporting 62% K-12 on break today , moving to 70% on Monday and hopefully that will have some kind of positive impact at the box office.
  7. I love the Beatles music and I saw the trailer somewhere, probably on youtube. I have a feeling I'll end up watching this on DVD or Netflix or something similar.
  8. Well, RTH has all kinds of data, percentages out of school by week - that is really interesting. This becomes anecdotal, I live in Ohio and my HS kid is already out by Wednesday. He's usually out on June 10.
  9. Some significant number of children are already out of school, so I am not surprise Aladdin's hold is very good. That does not make the weekend number to be automatically big. Less than 50M is still very likely. School this year is out really early, like 2 weeks earlier than usual. Maybe @RtheEnd has the school out data.
  10. I haven't watched the movie, but now listening to the soundtrack on Spotify. And it's really good. I like Speechless a lot. Naomi Scott can sing.
  11. I have only enjoyed DM2. I fell asleep watching Minions on the sofa. At least, I gave it a try. That said, the design of the Minion is truly an award winner. I have seen so many children swooning over them, that the merchandising is probably only slightly below Frozen.
  12. I understand what you are saying, but that statement is really weird considering where Pokemon is coming from.
  13. DOM: $299.9 million OS: $700.1 million WW: $1,000,100,000 China: 1.71 billion yuan
  14. Right, why would people think Detective Pikachu will make a lot of money?
  15. Christopher Robin led for the second weekend in a row. Weekend: 184,950 attendance and 256,242,000 won revenue. Extended weekend (with Monday holiday): 290,0711 people, and income 392,770,000 yen. Cumulative attendance (until Monday): 910,000 people, revenue exceeded 1.2 billion yen (US$10.6 million). Higher number of attendance from Christopher Robin's age people. https://eiga.com/ranking/
  16. So, where can we see cumulative numbers? I remembered there was a weekend table of about 20 or 30 entries with cume.
  17. The numbers this week really pale vs. last week's
