  1. Can we expect another 3.4x multiplier for Zoo from Fri to Sat? That would be about 20M yuan. Not bad for LHF.
  2. So, while Zoo has #1 attendance, The Revenant still has #1 money. Btw, the actual list above, does it include Austria?
  3. Kingsman had higher numbers overall, of course and the it shows steady decline over time. (Kingsman's number from Olive) Zoo has the highest number on second weekend, just like Kingsman, but then it just stays at 20,000+ attendance everyday and bounces back up every weekend.
  4. There is no justification in downplaying the contribution of @firedeep on this board. His intuitive prediction and knowledge about the Chinese BO has been very helpful and enlightening to the other members. No Prisoners has created a very solid predictive method based on the presales number, but without the internal understanding of the Chinese BO, it is not complete and lacking the big picture of the market. Again, numbers by itself, is not meaningful without the description.
  5. I must say that I am enjoying these daily threads. Amusing, exasperating, intermingled with some sane responses. Just like reading the comments on a sport news controversy.
  6. Probably the second figure should be 12.29mil yuan. Maybe 15M yuan at the end of the day. It is dropping off precipitiously.
  7. It's not Mojo's fault. It's the country's exchange rate. https://mises.org/library/venezuelas-bizarre-system-exchange-rates Apparently, Sony is the only studio still using the official (bloated) exchange rate. They probably still want to have box office revenue reported at the highest dollar value. Disney got burned badly and had to report a one-off write-off of millions a little more than a year ago.
  8. Nice increase. The gap continues to shrink. Nice long leg for zoo.
  9. I still think this will go past $1b worldwide after some time but with some wiggle room to spare.
  10. Thank you Olive. I wouldn't be able to figure it out myself.
  11. Is there a way to compare daily runs of leggy movies in S Korea, maybe zootopia and Kingsman or something similar?
  12. Currently at maoyan, the result for wednesday is: The Revenant: 19.4M yuan Zoo: $15.3M yuan So in line with previous working days.
  13. BOM says Zootopia is already over 25M: Russia - CIS Disney 3/3/16 $7,834,448 29.9% $26,225,670 3/20/16 Is it because BOM figure has other countries or it's just the exchange rate difference?
  14. Zoo is already above BH6 in Korea Didn't think it would do it during the first week of its release.
  15. Because different countries like their movies differently. That is why it is very interesting to following international markets. One can look at this top movies around the world: http://www.insidekino.de/BO/2015MAE.htm and know that it indeed varies from country to country.
  16. What is the website to look at the ACTUAL numbers? Does cbooo give accurate numbers for actual? Does piaofang even give the cumulative numbers? Thanks
  17. Wow, that makes Tuesday (much) bigger than Sunday.
  18. Question: is the data on cbooo.cn actual or estimate? This reading seems to show higher result for Ant-man (20m?)
  19. I wouldn't call it a disappointment. It is more: "why couldn't it have gotten more?" But peludo gave a succinct reasoning behind the numbers and while anyone can say "the movie should have done 1) ... 2) ... and so on", the final $1.35-1.4 billion dollar is still a huge amount of money and Disney/Marvel would take it any day. Just look at Tomorrowland result. That is a disappointment.
