  1. That is an amazing second Saturday when you stop and think about it. Absolutely massive.
  2. No, he wants attention. And everyone here keeps giving it. He's a classic troll, albeit an extremely autistic one.
  3. International is not slowing down. This is coming for 1 billion more easily than I originally thought.
  4. I honestly don't know a single soul offline that is even remotely interested in BvS. Its potential is vastly overrated.
  5. In The Netherlands it will collect over a million euros in pre-sales from just one theater chain alone. The opening weekend record seems near locked.
  6. The song is terrible. No other word for it. Sam Smith turns it into a melodramatic vanity affair with half of the notes lifted directly from MJ's 'Earth Song'. It's the least 'Bond' sounding song I can think of. Just because there's some orchestration that serves as nothing else but a reminder of how well other Bond songs once achieved this concept and how painfully this misses the mark. On the heels of Adele's absolutely masterful 'Skyfall' this is beyond a disappointment. It makes Alica Keys and Madonna's works sound like instant classics. boy did things go wrong here. For the first time I'm starting to really feel how much less hype this production is generating compared to Skyfall and Royale.
  7. The problem is that Dreamworks' initial ... 'thing', was to present itself as an edgy alternative to Disney. The problem is, history has already shown that only works for so long (think WB, MGM, Hanna Barbera, Spielberg). There needs to be a long-term vision. And that is something they never had. And now with Disney back in the saddle, it's going to become increasingly difficult for Dreamworks to make a comeback. Especially because their brand of animation has worn off its novelty and copycats are all around. They've entered a serious identity crisis. Either they overcome it, or they will go down. Brand recognition is already fading. And fast. Meanwhile, Disney and Pixar grow stronger. It's not all that surprising that no one wants to touch Dreamworks stock. Even when they have a small rebound with something like Home, there's still no long term strategy or vision for the studio.
  8. The director on this is probably more capable than Burton. I have some hope for it. It's Woolverton's return that has me worried.
  9. Below $25 Million for Fantastic Four would be excellent. Let's not reward studios for producing shit films. I'm all for a thriving Box Office, but this is not something to celebrate.
  10. I didn't know this movie existed until a week ago. And it has no recognizable stars. Its numbers are to be expected.
  11. This will have what some of the recent blockbusters have been missing: Europe coming out in full force. The nostalgia + christmas release date is perfect.
  12. TG is going to bomb incredibly hard. Audiences have been spoiled (and spent an insane amount) on good films in the last months, there is no reason to expect anyone will show up for this unnecessary turd.
  13. Remember Bedtime Stories? Exactly, this will also be forgotten by the end of the year. Wreck-It Ralph and The Lego Movie explored these concepts already in much better ways. No one ever watched Wreck-It Ralph and said: "You know what? This needs more Adam Sandler!" No amount of Peter Dinklage can save this thing.
  14. I've sat through two of these F&F movies and both were torturously terrible. Am I missing something about this franchise? I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad the Box Office is alive and kicking, but F&F...? really? I'm probably getting old.
  15. While this will cause some sighs of relief at DWA, they're not out of the woods yet. Below 50% on RT is nothing to be proud of when the competition is consistently producing 80%+ mega hits. They need more consistency in terms of quality in order to be able to compete in this crowded field. Still, good for Dreamworks, finally a hit.
  16. Fantastic run in my opinion. It didn't open truly massive anywhere, but it had a steady run and a pretty big worldwide total. The fact that it's outgrossing Dragon 2 is very impressive and a testament to Disney's current impeccable quality streak.
  17. The failure of JA just proves that people don't want to see any more Waksowski films. Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum are draws, but the film just looked stupid.
  18. Mockingjay is really putting up a fight. I enjoyed it, so I'm happy.
