hasanahmad
Solid $11.5M TUE for #ManOfSteel, down 8% from MON, for $152.8M cume after 5.5 days. May finish in $325M area.Gitesh Pandya
Captain Craig
And early IM3 reports were of $420-430m in the few days worth of dailies released. This $325m is going to come down.....brace yourself for the drop once the coaster hits the apex people. MoS is going to finish around $305-310m domestic
Deathlife
I knew IM3 would increase from the previous one but I never saw it increasing by that much. $400M (an increase of almost $100M from the previous one) is pretty darn impressive. Not to mention that massive WW gross of around $1.2bn. I can't really say I'm too bothered by its legs because it faced some pretty hefty competition (Star Trek, FF6, GG, TH3 would do damage to virtually any movie) that would always have cut into its legs (I mean, RDJ is popular but this is Iron Man we're talking about...not Batman or Spider-man). Iron Man isn't Spider-man, Superman or Batman, for Marvel to have built up the character to that level, much credit must be given to them.

If not for these two, this might have finished with just 330 M or maybe less.

Take him away and the movies would never have been huge. Ever.

keysersoze123
IM3 was a may release and its weekday sucked(it almost behaved like a kids movie). MOS is doing much better with dailies and so it should have a better multi unless it collapse over the weekend. 325M should happen with summer weekdays and 4th of july long weekend.

Even if IM3 benefited from the Avengers, it's still amazing to me that the Avengers blew up the way it did around the world.
Captain Craig
Those numbers aren't bad at all. Right, exactly. I wasn't saying they were. Hitting at/over $300m dom is a great place to finish. Just reminding folks the curve is going to bring that early finish estimate number back down $10-20m.

SM3 was so reviled that Sony rebooted the entire franchise even coming off the biggest movie in the series(WW).
