Actors who make movies better just by being in them

Recommended Posts

Philip Seymour Hoffman. You can like more or less MI:3, but the movie deserves to be seen just for his appearances. And he will probably be a good reclaim to certain audiences to see Catching Fire. Superb actor.

Great mention!!

Remember him in Twister?  He was hilarious in that.

Kate winslet and Leonardo dicaprio!! And when they're together....it's pure magic. Look no further than revolutionary road. Couldn't imagine how that film would have turned out with different leads.

Even more boring and pointess?

lol I remember watching Twister many times as kid and remember the crazy hill bill guy as a riot.

Then I watched the film and I was like WTF thats Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Lol it was good, he gives off an image of being super serious he can be fun as well.

lol even when he plays the same roles he is a lot of fun.

He was quite enjoyable in ROTS and TA.

"I know that is your decision but its a stupid ass decision"

Then he takes an RPG and shoots down a plane.

What does that mean?

As bad as his career is going lately, Johnny Depp is still a good answer for this. He's been picking terrible scripts, and the movies still end up being crap, but he can usually turn a 2/10 movie into a 4 or 5/10 one.

Generally I felt that's been true but I felt like he really dropped the ball on OST. Maybe it was the script but he did nothing to make that bland movie any better

Robert Downey Jr.

Jennifer Lawrence

Johnny Depp

Steve Carell

Daniel Day Lewis

Amy Adams

Clint Eastwood

Morgan Freeman

Denzel Washington

Steve Buscemi

John Goodman

Sandra Bullock

Emma Stone

A damn near perfect list, although I'd add Meryl Streep and Christoph Waltz. I'm a bit surprised nobody mentioned  him before.

I'm on the fence about Christopher Walken, I always enjoy seeing him, but he's virtually a parody of himself now.
