That is what every tentpole gets, 150M+ marketing and distribution fee.

In all fairness...that number never includes the distribution fee. Granted, Star Trek doesn't have a distribution fee(just a bunch of overhead). But that's not in that number either.

Distribution cost is small compared with marketing cost.

10M distribution fee should be enough to cover a wide release in North America, in this digital age.

I think you underestimate. When a studio charges distribution to another based on fee...it's normally on average 10 percent of revenue. It ain't pocket change. It's tens of millions. It's not small. Edited by kowhite

Okay it’s been more ho-hum than anything, still that one flop wasn’t just a flop, it was a giant bomb.

Disney isn’t going out of business anytime soon, but they need to stop overbudgeting their movies. It could lead to disastrous consequences.

Disney may be over-reporting LONE RANGER budget...

How can Johnny Depp, Armie's plastic mask, a bunch of low-tech explosions, and a 18th century train set can cost $200M ???

Its Disney.

Fox would have made the same movie for 150 mill
