That's a bad date, especially with the high cost the movie has. They needed a lot of holidays to help recover the investment for sure. Surprised they didn't take the Christmas release window.

It will open well, but has too much competition as the holiday period is lining up with its release. Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos, Chef, Bareilly ki Barfi are all releasing at the same time around it.

Across all languages, I wouldn't be surprised with 150+ Crore. The OD alone should be more than 60 Crores across the languages.

Total: 250 Cr

Telugu: 270 Cr

Others: 70 Cr

Total: 600 Cr

I can see 100Crore Nett happen on OD as well. Telugu movies can open to 45 Crore Nett, and this will push over that, if Hindi can contribute 30 and Tamil around 10, then it is definitely within reach.

I really liked the first one, it has flaws but it was an epic film.

Bahubali 2 has become the first film in history to cross the 100 crore nett mark on day one. The collections will come are likely to come in higher but the minimum estimates are below. These are likely to go up further tomorrow morning. The Hindi version is on course to set records in every Hindi belt circuit. The first day looks to be closing in the 35-40 crore nett range for the Hindi version. It is a non holiday record and in the morning it could end up being an all time record despite not releasing in 12-15% of the market. The film is blazing a trail in Nizam / Andhra but that was expected. Tamil Nadu is the weakest region but still will put huge numbers. The early breakdown is as follows.
