CaptainJackSparrow
Anyone want to explain to me why Texas Chainsaw 3D and Friday the 13th were so frontloaded? Edited September 6, 2013 by KingKong
4815162342
CHRONICLES isn't horrible, it's just really odd and awkward.I'm seeing RIDDICK this morning. The best part is the middle act on the Heat Planet easily.
baumer
Anyone want to explain to me why Texas Chainsaw 3D and Friday the 13th were so frontloaded? Texas Chainsaw 3D was pretty silly and it went against the story that we all know about Leatherface. So the opening was decent but WOM very quickly kicked in. F13th is all about the date. In 2009, Friday the 13th fell on a Friday and the next day was Valentine's Day. It's the perfect storm. Massive OD and then a decent enough drop on Saturday as it's a good date movie. After that it dropped like a rock. There are only so many slasher horror fans. Films like The Conjuring are much more the exception than they are the rule.
filmnerdjamie
Not sure why anyone is surprised Riddick isn't doing well. Did they forget how badly Chronicles of Riddick did?
Blankments
Can we just get to Friday numbers? The only things I care about this weekend is Riddick and how the holdovers do

Fancyarcher
0.9m for Riddick is bad ? No actually it isn't, especially for a movie that was released in September (you know after the summer is over, when schools are in session).

Fancyarcher
Lol at the name of the distributor of the Last Flight of the champion, “High Top releasing”. Last Flight of the champion sure looks like it’s a big release with great animation .
