WERE THE MILLER will burst through $140M barrier.

A nice surprise for Warner...

Looks like 150 is still on the table for WTM!

I'm taking a group of friends. Third viewing for me and I'm still utterly excited.

I saw TITE 3 times back in June and July. I already did my duty.

Didn't Diesel foot the bill for this movie?? Like put up his mansion or some shit like that??? If so, the payoff isn't going to be worth this.. Should've went straight to DVD and VOD...

I doubt it.  This is the same studio as FF.  It looks like this is throwing him a bone to keep him happy.  I have nothing to back this up, but that's how it appears to me.

It's a 30 million dollar budget and it's looking like it will gross at least 100 mill WW.  That's before HV and TV.  This should be a good sized hit for Universal.

???

That's not how I understood the story. I thought they gave Diesel the Riddick rights, and then won the bid to distribute this specific movie after he made it.

Riddick was partly self financed by Diesel as loans fell through but Universal footed some of the bill in exchange for Domestic rights, the film is being distributed by local distributors worldwide so Universal isn't going to earn anything from foreign box office. Diesel is likely earned scale just from the acting side but he'll make some money if the film overperforms.

Besides The Heat (which I already saw and it was hilarious) and The Butler (which I will see on Monday if everything goes according to the plan), there was another movie opening this weekend here.

It was the one and only RIPD, released exclusively in 2D. And I saw it today. And good God it was amazing. Glorious just like I expected. Jeff Bridges performance was bizarre and ridiculous. I am almost throw up and the indian food scene. Ryan Reynolds was just lost the whole time. I feel that he just wanted to stop and say 'FUCK THIS SHIT'. Kevin Bacon was just enjoying the stupidity happening around him. The movie probably got cutted 20 or 30 minutes. Half of Boston is destroyed and in the next day everything is just fine. The world was invaded by deados but in the next day is like if nothing happened. A true trainwreck. After Earth is just bad and boring. This is a glorious trainwreck of epic propotions that makes no sense.

Like I said.  I was guessing.  I have no knowledge of the business behind Riddick.
