John Marston
Can we say $300M is locked for Gravity ?Only 17 other films have made $31M on their third weekend, and all of them except HP2 past the 300M mark. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/weekends/moreweekends.htm?page=3&p=.htm What do you think?I think this one is going to make money til the Oscars the problem is weekdays don't seem to be as strong as weekends

stripe
the problem is weekdays don't seem to be as strong as weekends The "problem" is that all of those 17 films had grossed more than Gravity after their 3rd weekend. Gravity has 170M after a 31M weekend. It needs to do 130M more after 21 days of burned demand. And it's dropping a 20-30% every weekend. To say 300M is locked is crazy. CaptainJackSparrow
Man of Steel was so close to 300m. WowIt deserved it also, like the Sixth Sense, Goblet of Fire, Narnia, Inception, and Harry Potter 7 all deserved to reach it.
John Marston
Star Trek 2 will probably not be on the top 10 of the year. Who saw that coming.
GiantCALBears
Man of Steel was so close to 300m. WowNot really, $9m is quite a bit of money or 3% of its total gross. Less than $3m would be so close. Edited October 21, 2013 by GiantCALBears

But just looking at 291m figure just makes it seem so close.
ecstasy
Gravity already in the top 10. Go Gravity get that money.

But just looking at 291m figure just makes it seem so close.Just to give you an idea of how far off it was, it took its last 63-67 days to gross $9m. Has not had solid late theater legs at all for how huge it opened.

CoolioD1
WB do have quite a few movies in that 290-300 range. Man of Steel, Inception, like half the Harry Potter films.
ChD
WB do have quite a few movies in that 290-300 range. Man of Steel, Inception, like half the Harry Potter films. Only 3 potter films and the Hobbit, along with the other 2 you mentioned.
