shayhiri
There's still time for WB to pull a Jupiter Ascending and set it in February 2016. As if that helped them A TON!!
shayhiri
They should really move this movie because its going to get slaughtered at the box office. Lolz, it is NOT!! This is the only good looking movie this summer, who exactly is threatening it? If OTHER companies and movies (and their fans) feel threatened by Pan, then THEY should move! O Kei?? adrianarose27
Wouldn't they only move it to February if they thought it was horrible? If it's at all good, they might as well give it a chance this year. It looks more to me like a fall movie than a summer one though. DAJK
What if they bumped Uncle and moved Pan to August?
mahnamahna
This is the only good looking movie this summer, who exactly is threatening it? Minions (should do $250 million+ DOM) Ant-Man (should do $175 million+ DOM) Pixels (should do $130 million+ DOM) MI5 (should do $200 million+ DOM) Fantastic Four (should do $115 million+ DOM) All of those, in one way or another, target either a kiddie demo or a tentpole demo. As a kid-friendly tentpole, Pan has some serious competition this July. If it goes above $80 million DOM, I'd be shocked. October 9th or MLK 2016 would give Pan some breathing room. DAJK's suggestion of moving UNCLE and giving Pan the August 14th date is great as well.

Paper Towns isn't targeting the same demo as Pan. It's targeting 12-18 yr old girls primarily. It's also why I didn't include Vacation, Trainwreck, Southpaw or The Gallows. I do agree that Paper Towns will do $80-100 million. July 2015 is a busy month this year.
filmlover
What if they bumped Uncle and moved Pan to August? They won't move The Man From U.N.C.L.E. again, it already has experienced a 7 month delay from its original January opening.

IMO, Pan has potential teen appeal in the same way that something like Narnia appeals to teens

If WB doesn't have any faith in Uncle (which I don't think is true) there's always the option of just switching release dates for it and Pan. However, like I alluded to, I think Uncle does have potential to be good and make money so that isn't too likely.
Chriss
Uncle has the time and place to be a word-of-mouth hit. Moving it would be dumb.

CJohn
Bomb of the Summer. At least Terminator is gonna get saved by OS markets to not look like a total bomb. This is another Jack the Giant Killer Slayer in the making.
DAJK
What as that? There was literally no new footage! And I agree completely with CJohn, if WB doesn't do something good with this soon, it's going to bomb ala Jack the Giant Slayer

DAJK
that song is so out of place. I see what you mean. Visually it looks good. The song by itself is good. But together, they only work in that one shot where you see the flying ship going toward that floating island thing.
babz06
Unfortunately, a candidate for biggest flop of the year.
Blankments
I honestly think the teaser is still my favorite trailer of any of the summer movies this year except maybe Inside Out's second trailer #StanForPan
mahnamahna
Other than American Sniper, WB really doesn't have much positive going for them this year. I don't think anything else other than Vacation has a shot at $130 million DOM+ right now. It'll be the year where WB has 10-15 films do $80-100 million DOM
