Alice in Wonderland is underrated in regards to the giant trend it has spawned, its 1 B ww gross has made producers crazy.

Most of these stories are in public domain, that s why we have two movies with the same subject for example.

Blame Alice for this new trend which is almost as big as the superhero trend.

Old tales everybody knows of that will have their CGI heavy version, blame Depp, Wasikoswska and Burton.

AiW and Clash of The Titans were the first movies in 3D after Avatar made 3D the new "in" thing. Both of them benefited immensely from that, a similar thing happened with HTTYD as well. Alice had the added advantage of Depp's star power back in 2010 as well.

Those facts don 't change the influence Alice had on producers deciding to do retelling with CGI old fairy tales everybody know.

Alice was the blueprint and you when list the movies in that vein, it s mindboggling.

Definetly doesn't look like a summer movie, it could be more suited to the Holiday season anyway the release date for this movie suck it opens a week after Minions and on the same weekend as Ant-Man, and if Pixels it's actually decent or atleast well market could be a decent hit (but since Adam Sandler doesn't have the same B.O. power as he did before, it could bomb.), so this movie might actually fail to register.

The kid seems like a breakout star to me.

Move This to Spring 2016. Both the Summer & Holiday 2015 movie seasons are bloodbath!!!!

WB have Batman v Superman in Spring 2016. Don't think they are going to move Pan to that date.

August 2015 is pretty empty.  I know WB also has Man from UNCLE but completely different demographics.

Well. Not that empty

How about October 2015?

Jungle Book is coming out then.

So Pan is basically screwed wherever it goes. :P

^ I think Pan moving a week later may mean that WB's Point Break remake may finally be dead. They had that scheduled to release on 7/31 but I don't think they are crazy enough to release 2 movies basically having the same target audience in 2 consecutive weeks.
