htall90
What is the record OW in china by the way? I think TF4 can do at least 70 mil OW in china.

baumer
When is the release date going to be announced. Is it even possible that it doesn't get released in China?
CaptainJackSparrow
If it's not released in China, bye bye 1 billion.
baumer
If it's not released in China, bye bye 1 billion. It's filmed in China, co-financed by CCTV and Jiaflix Enterprises and it is being distributed in China by China Film group or Huaxia. It's 100% getting a release there. Transformers 4 is expected to be released in China on or around June 27, 2014.
Moviedweeb
Has anyone mentioned that the new design of the Robots seems to resemble samuari? This seems to cater perfectly to the Chinese since it shares familiar design cues.

Godzilla
LOL at some people doubting $1B WW...... When it can in just 2 markets (North America and China) make $600M, you know there's no way in hell it's missing $1B.

It's just people's own personal biases at work. TF4 will easily clear 1B, and almost certainly beat TF3 as well WW. TF has shown that quality literally does not matter when it comes to the amount of money made.

There are a lot of us who think they are very much a quality film.
Robertron
It's funny how, with China, I'd be disappointed in anything under $700m OS...That being said, I'm predicting, for now, around $850m OS.

I enjoy the TF movies as well, and find them quite entertaining. But I just meant that the TF movies get shit on critically and still make tons of money, so the people that don't like the movies shouldn't lowball them, because if nothing else is locked for 1B this year, TF is.

zackzack
Yh it is quality except number 2 in that it's meant to be stupid fun not meant to be taken seriously by anyone! Michael Bay is not cut out to do comedy. Ironically his first feature is a comedy BAD BOYS. When he sticks to non-stop, hyper-action, he is at his most natural. When can Hollywood understand that and just unleash the Bay already?

KATCH-2D2
So what's up with the release date in China? I haven't seen the official release date on that market and yet people keep over-predicting how much $$ it'd make over there.
