Hmm, so the big question - will it pass TDW WW or not?  If it does $280m US it will need $365m O/S.

It made $33m this weekend - so how much more just from these markets?

It has China, Germany, Italy, Japan left of the major markets.

Italy & Japan combined might be around $15m if it makes around what what TDW and CA2

Germany: $15-20m (Though it did closer to CA2's opening in France than TDW it seems to be performing closer to TDW in Europe which made $20m in Germany)

It all comes down to China.  Will it follow the trend of SH movies in China this year or behave closer to how it's done in the rest of Asia? How much will the Oct release date affect it?

196.4 + 20(Italy+Japan) + 20 (Germany) + 100 (China) = 336.4

I think the remaining territories can do ~100m?

That should be 436+290 = 726m WW possibly if things go well.

GOTG earned that, I am going to see if for a second time but this time not with 3 friends but with 8 XD + 3 of the previous time (they also loved ti ;)

285 DOM

390 OS

675 WW

That's what i see atm.

At the moment we are loking at an underestimated sunday of 0.5M so that would bring the drop of the weekend under the 40% if next weeks hold we can get 300M DOM. That would be great!

In the UK

Remaining firm in second was Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy with an excellent $3.5m (£2.1m) third weekend for $31.4m (£18.8m) to date.

In terms of Marvel outings in the UK, that puts Guardianson the cusp of overtaking Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s $31.9m (£19.1m) and, barring a marked collapse, puts it on course to become the third biggest Marvel outing to date ahead of Iron Man 2’s $35.5m (£21.2m).

I have a feeling GOTG will do much more than that in Germany

$100m off a $33m w/e - would be a 4 multiplier.  TWS with did another $70m off a $35m w/e O/S.

Just checked Italy & Japan numbers - TDW and TWS did about $16.5-17m in both combined.  I don't see GOTG doing almost 20% more than both when it hasn't done so in any previous market.  Japan is usually a different beast than other Asian markets (it could go crazy break out like Maleficent and do $60m) but GOTG has underperformed TDW and TWS significantly in the others.

I think Japan + Italy + Germany = $35m is the high end

China could be anywhere from $60m-100m

So my high end guess:

$35m + $75m + $100m = $210m more O/S for a $406m O/S total

Low end it could do $50m less for $356m O/S.  So if it does $290m dom it would pass TDW ww
