Even the runaway record breaking success Roaring Currents only went up around 40% from Thu-Fri

 

Summer weekdays are not only higher in the US, so Thur/Thur openings from different times of the year aren't very comparable when projecting w/e numbers.

Higher than TWS in RUS  ($7.73) and in the UK ($10.1m).  Lower in Mexico ($8.6m), Brazil ($6.93m) and SK ($11m)

 

Lower than TDW in every territory except RUS ($7.6) and there TDW opened on half the screens it had on it's 2nd w/e when it made $11.4m. UK ($13.8m) Mexico ($8.25m), Brazil ($6.7m) and SK ($7.6m)

Considering CA2 also came out around the time of increased hostile relations between the US and Russia over the Ukraine I was surprised it even made that - and actually doubled the opening of the first movie which wasn't even called Captain America there just "The First Avenger".

The name was not an issue,CA2 made more in Russia than France and Germany.

I think it will make $350-450M OS. Although a different genre, it's currently ahead of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and that made $305M OS.

You can't compare the two. The release schedules are different, different territories and different number of territories each week.

I would say 300m overseas is guaranteed, with the potential to go much higher.
