It literally looks like a cocaine-fueled, raging "this will be graphics in 2013" dumpster fire. And while I am so hyped and ready for the mess this is going to be, this trailer paints the movie as a weird meta movie like Detective Pikachu and not an earnest adventure like the Mario and Sonic movies. Between that, and the generally scathing fan reactions I'm seeing, it's not looking good for this movie. I do have a feeling I'm going to be walking out of this movie wishing that I'd rather seen Rob McElhenney's animated version instead. The concept he presented about people taking control and agency of their lives sounds so fascinating, and the concept art that leaked out looks gorgeous.
