Something I've wondered about Obi Wan in ANH, he tells Solo they'll pay 17,000, did he have that money on him? Like when he went in hiding did he draw money from the bank?

Alice in Wonderland doesn't count as an original movie, so Frozen is Disney's first original billion dollar movie (and one of the few billion dollar original movies out there)

Hans Christian Andersen wants to have a word with you.

It may be "loosely based," but Frozen is still an adaptation of a pre-existing property.

It's loosely based on his work...

Obi-Wan knew the royal family on Alderaan would cover any payments needed.

Some surprising demographic stats on Non-Stop:

The film played 51% female, 65% over-35. It played 46% Caucasian, 27% Hispanic, 13% African American, and 9% Asian, suggesting that Mr. Neeson can bring audiences of all demographics together.

I knew it played to adult audiences, but the majority of the audience was non-Caucasian (54%). By comparison, here's the demo breakdown for Fast 6:49% female crowd. 57% were age 25 or older and 32% were Latino.Somehow, Non-Stop played similarly to Fast 6 demographic wise! Would not have expected that.

How many people actually knew the story of the Snow Queen going into Frozen?  Frozen doesn't even have that much in common with it.

Hans Christian Anderson's tale is nowhere even remotely close to the realm of popularity the Alice in Wonderland (Which has had many movie adaptions) is.

Frozen is pretty much an original story.

I guess even our Lord and savior are no match for Liam Neeson's particular set of skills

Twist: Liam Neeson is our Lord and Savior.

After 2014 years, Jesus' reign as the most important figure in humanity's existence has been ended thanks to Liam Neeson. All is right in the world now.

i'd say i'm a little more impressed with neeson's coming back as an action star in his late 50s/early 60s than i am with christ coming back from the dead anyway.

I'm going to respond to these here because they were posted here, but anything beyond this I would appreciate if you PM what I hope will be your mature and well-thought responses instead of cluttering this forum with them.

I understand that we currently live in world in which many deem it acceptable to make fun of Christians and Christianity, but that doesn't mean that you should do so.  And if you do decide to go down that road, it doesn't make it right or less hurtful.  If Non-Stop was up against a movie depicting Islam, I seriously doubt any of you would have posted anything along the lines of what the quoted posts illustrate, let alone have gotten away with it without some level of backlash.  All I ask is that Christians and Christianity be shown the same "respect/deference" in this forum - and on BOM in general - that is shown toward other religions and to those who support gay rights.

By the way, I'm PMing this post to Shawn and the mods.

The plan I assume was to have the Rebels (re: Old Jimmy Smits) on Alderaan foot the bill for the 17k since R2 and the data technically belonged to them. The 2k they had to pay upfront obviously came from selling Luke's speeder Edited by 4815162342

No it's not. Even Disney marketing materials acknowledge that it's loosely based on The Snow Queen. Whether people know the story or not, the fact is that Disney came up with the story by taking an original tale from HCA and reconceptualizing it for mass consumption, which is the same thing they did with all their previous animated hits based on fairy tales.
