Best Actress-2014 Predictions

Recommended Posts

Is she gonna get in?

Chances are yes... Her only other competitor is Cotillard, so her chances are good-ish. But either way, if she doesn't get in at this point it'll be seen as a snub, so that's progress by her standards.

Julianne Moore is most definitely not locked, best actress awards have been all over the place.

Many awarded Cotillard, quite a few have been given to Pike, and Moore has been struggling to win much.

Moore is locked. Critics awards have always been a shitshow and have never been reliable in predicting wins and they're never good at predicting wins, especially their darlings because of a variety of factors from difference in tastes, difference in demographics and the fact that Hollywood hates critics.

And let's be honest here. Cotillard is fighting for the last spot and Pike-who? Moore will sweep the televised and that's all that matters b/c Moore has the performance and by far the best narrative. Cotillard's already won and again, Pike-who? Moore has been snubbed before, she's well respected and this is her time now.

Moore is not locked to sweep just like unbroken was not locked to win (or even be nominated). She is no Cate Blanchett and Still Alice is no Blue Jasmine. Best actress is currently up in the air.

So Jennifer Aniston broke down a new frontier in Oscar campaigning.

She got an acting award for Cake invented especially for her by People Magazine.

That is all kind of desperate, retarted and awesome and she gave a speech like she was winning some important award.

She was the sole nominee.

Beautiful.

Go Jen, Go !!!

And Michael Keaton won the award there for Best Actor - does that make him "desperate & retarded" too???  Whoever watched the show now know about the movies Cake & Birdman - good advertising.

Amy Adams making a tv employee cry because she was furious the tv anchors didn t ask question about her movie big eyes but asked her about the Sony Hack.

The show cancelled her appearance.

Drama !

Harvey promising an investigation and saying he is 100% behind Amy. Harvey called personaly the executives of the channel !

The Amy tantrum may have been filmed !

That's pathetic, I hope she doesn't get nominated, especially since there are better performances to nod.

Weinstein demands an apology from 'Today' Show:

Harvey Weinstein is pushing NBC for a formal apology over the Amy Adams “Today” show fiasco, sources exclusively tell Page Six.

The movie mogul is furious after the “Big Eyes” star’s appearance on Monday’s show was abruptly canceled by “Today” executives as she sat in the green room after refusing to talk about the Sony hacking debacle.

Adams was caught up in the mess after e-mails revealed she was paid less for “American Hustle” than her male co-stars. Adams was in the “Today” green room when a producer said, “This is a news show,” and she would be asked about Sony.

A source said, “Amy said she didn’t feel comfortable talking about people who are her friends. Then a junior producer said her appearance had been canceled. That’s never happened in 20 years at ‘Today.’ Naturally Amy was upset, particularly when she saw, out of the corner of her eye, a segment was running about brushing a dog’s teeth. How is that news?”

Even though “Today” host Matt Lauer tried to smooth things over after the drama with a call to Weinstein, the source added, “Weinstein wants a formal apology or at least an independent investigation into what happened by an independent authority like Rudy Giuliani.”

A Weinstein Company rep said, “We hope NBC will apologize to Amy, and that in hindsight, they would have handled the situation differently.” NBC declined to comment last night.

  "Indepdent invesigation"? Uncle Harvey is sooooo milking it! Today has been around forever, thousands upon thousands of celebrity interviews, I seriously doubt no actor has wanted to avoid a certain subject before. And Today is not ratings powerhouse it used to be--stuff like this is a sure way to make a person choose Good Morning America.

Any awards "buzz" for Adams needs to be taken out back and shot.  Her Big Eyes performance is one of the most forgettable and bland of her entire career. Hell, I'll even take her performance in MoS over Big Eyes. And the same goes for Waltz and the movie in general while we're at it.

Amy Adams could win, or she could break Geraldine Page's record for the longest till her first win :P

Anyway not sure who would win. One thing that is going against Moore is that actress is likely to be the films only category. (yes Monster did win actress with no other nominations, but if there were 10 noms then it would of likely been nominated)

Likely my final predicts:

Amy Adams for Big Eyes

Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything

Julianne Moore for Still Alice

Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl

Reese Witherspoon for Wild

Alt: Marion Cotillard for Two Days, One Night
