JB33
Exactly a year ago today Sony released the trailer for Escape Room. I was kind of hoping they'd do the same for The Grudge. Hopefully we get something today. Maybe Monday.
Taylor
Trailer Monday. Should have attached to Z2, but whatever.

SLAM!
Might as well release the trailer with a horror film that's become the beneficiary of surprisingly solid marketing.

SLAM!
It looks intriguingly traditional. Good for John Cho.

Krissykins
Ooh effective trailer. What a great cast they attracted for this one. I think it’ll be the first hit of 2020.
Taylor
Cast is great. Looks decent, I like that they recreated the SMG shower scene with John Cho lol.

JB33
Another surprisingly quality (by the looks of it anyway) horror movie dropping on the first weekend of January to kick the new year off. I'm loving this tradition. The last one I passed on was Underworld: Blood Wars in 2017. Yeah, I had no need for that, but Insidious: The Last Key (January 5, 2018) and Escape Room (January 4, 2019) were great and I'm sure this will be no different. Can I also just say that I love Lin Shaye? She's great!
Zakiyyah6
Good cast but looks dull to me.
Brainbug
Looks decent enough. A bit worried avout the Jumpscares, i really dislike them. But visually it looks very solid and the casting is great.

The Horror of Lucas Films
It looks really solid, I can see it being a break out.
JB33
This is definitely going to continue the recent trend of low-key successful horror releases kicking off the new year. $20M+ opening?

Not a recent trend. It’s been happening for at least 15 years. There’s posters for this in cinemas with the hair and you can touch and lift up the hair; yuck lol. 1
