I posted here long ago that saban wants to make this cheap. None believed, but come 2017 all of you will see for yourself unless of course things go so bad that they have to do tons of reshoots which shoots up the budget.

It has been reported by Forbes' Scott Mendelson that the budget for the PR movie is actually $75 million.  Scott had the article from Lionsgate about the Gods of Egypt controversy about two weeks ago.  The Ranger fandom seems to think that is a huge number for the movie, arguing that because the core Ranger cast are unknowns, they don't have to pay RDJ like numbers to the actors.  Scott has been very optimistic about the PR movie's prospects in his articles.  However, Lionsgate has had quite a few movies that were budgeted with a similar range to the PR movie, flop in 2015, haven't they?

The Power Rangers movie has been pushed back again, to March 24, 2017, as noted by Deadline and other trade sites .  Current rumors in the Ranger fandom suggest ILM may be doing some of the visual effects for the movie.

Don't take it that way. What I meant was with this kind of movie, a bigger budget means better VFX, CGI, set pieces, visual appeal, etc. Imagine Transformers 4 on a 60M budget. It wouldn't nearly look as good as it does with that kind of budget.
