I don't want to hear anyone bitching about marvel not trying new things now that everyone just finished complaining about how all they've done is try new things

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is the best Marvel show since Daredevil as well as taken more creative liberties than the Plus shows and Feige didn't even produce it.

Could you imagine after it released every single person bitching about it being either too much or not enough about the MCU future, like literally every release since 2019

again. let other people do & try it. why DC can do animated 2d stuff but Marvel practically stopped?

Because DC just cranks out an annual DTV animated movie, and outside of a couple exceptions the vast majority range from okay to absolutely terrible garbage like Injustice and Killing Joke

Ms Marvel rather than She Hulk cause She Hulk had audience. Ms Marvel is the biggest flop of them all bested only by Willow. Echo and Agatha are gonna flop just as bad.

Ms Marvel and Willow are probably the two best things Disney have put out in 4 years.

Thats a strange well of spelling Avatar: the way of water.

:bravo:

Yeah those shows were forgettable so low appeal is no surprise. At least She Hulk made people feel some strong emotion and watch or hate-watch. Ms Marvel and Willow weren't watched even to shit on them in YT vids. They weren't watched period.

Weird, MCU cultists keep screaming there is no fatigue and the TV shows are awesome and everything is perfect. Maybe Iger should discuss with them first before giving statements like this.

All the people who claim Marvel is fatigued need to look at DC for literally six seconds first lmao. "Diluted" isn't the same as the people on here screeching that Marvels headed for a Dark Phoenix type collapse and that everyone hates the shows.

I disagree with that but they were both fine and enjoyable as fluff.

Ms. Marvel would have been better if it just focused on teenage superhero in Jersey balancing life and heroics instead of all that low-rent stuff about the Noor and the alternate dimension morons.

Agatha won't flop & the reason is Wanda. Marvel, some marvel twitter accounts & scoopers together have created a cult following of this character. Ms. Marvel & Secret Invasion flopped bcz they were connected to Captain Marvel whereas Agatha is connected to Wanda.

There is a difference between fatigue and outright rejection. All the signs for fatigue are present.

Fast and furious is experiencing fatigue. The last one still made 700M+

The flash and Shazam 2 were outright rejected.

I swear if "Marvel just needs to shut down for a year and delay everything" is still a thing after the second time they've shut down for a year and delayed everything

Wellll, one of the implicit parts of the "Marvel just needs to shut down for a year and delay everything" argument is so they can work on things to make them better/more cohesive/interesting/whatever.

And that most certainly isn't gonna be happening this time.

(and one of my arguments is that people weren't taking into account how the pandemic shutdown complicated things on that front the first go around)

If there is pretty much no new content for Disney Plus how can they justify the prices? Best thing to do is shut down Disney Plus and license their stuff to Netflix and others

Having "cheap" easy access to the Disney vault is still worth the money for a lot of families and honestly that's what it probably should have always just been.

A supplemental income stream.

For those watching, Marvel has actually been initiating a lot of behind the scenes changes since Iger came back. The release schedule for the shows has slowed down. Victoria Alonso was shown the door. Almost every movie they’re prepping has changed writers, notably pivoting away from TV comedy writers. The two big Avengers films got pushed back. The Marvels got a public test screening instead of keeping everything internal. They know MoM and L&T disappointed their audience and that Ant 3 was a disaster. They’re changing things up but that’s a slow process for projects of these sizes.

The two Avengers movies got pushed back because of Jonathan Majors' case and because of writers strike not because Marvel slowing down things. And we don't actually know whether they slowed down shows or not as Iron Heart, Agatha, X-Men 97 & Daredevil are still scheduled to release in 2024.

Just catching up on the CNBC interview now and this is wrong, the increase in movie and introduction of TV was diluting the focus and attention of the people in the studio (not audience), thus why they have pulled back and partially why they slowed down releases from Marvel, Lucas (and more quietly WDAS and Pixar) but also to slow spending as well.

From the 41 second mark:

"we ended up taxing our people way beyond, in terms of their time and focus way beyond where they had been. Marvel is a great example of that, they had not been in the TV business in any significant level, not only did they increase their movie output but they ended up making a number of Television series and frankly it diluted focus and attention"
