Anagelina Jolie a Dame?

Yup!

Quick, can you name a female American movie star — actually, any American woman at all — declared an honorary dame by the queen?

Nope, the late Elizabeth Taylor doesn’t count; she was British-born. So is Angela Lansbury, recently named a dame, the female version of a knight.

Steven Spielberg has an honorary knighthood. Bill Gates has one. So did Bob Hope, President Reagan, Edward R. Murrow and a long list of Yank generals, including Eisenhower, Patton, Marshall, Schwarzkopf and Powell.

So the fact that Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie today received one of the highest honors granted byQueen Elizabeth II and the British establishment, for her work combating sexual violence in war zones, is a very big deal indeed.

We pored over the Wikipedia list of honorary knights and dames and could not find another female American on it.

Jolie was named an honorary dame commander of the Order of St Michael and St. George in the annual queen’s birthday honors list, which this year includes about 1,000 people honored for their service to the nation or their community.

It's BS how studios get away with this. Actuals never make headlines(only Avengers). Estimates always make headlines.Wow lol.

Exactly. But it's up to the media to change the game - put emphasis in the actuals and bring on the ridicule, so that the studios stop this shit.

22JS, Dragon 2 and TLAMT all had weekend estimates at 60M, 50M and 30M, respectively, and all dropped with actuals. Studios know estimates is what makes the headlines the most.

Among holdovers, Disney's Maleficent and Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 both crossed the $200 million threshold. Maleficent's showing is especially impressive, considering it isn't a sequel. Disney also celebrated the fact that Captain America: The Winter Soldier passed up The Lego Movie over the weekend to become the top grossing film of the year domestically with $257.2 million. - See more at: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-transformers-4-hits-715596#sthash.npyrh5R4.dpuf

It's not a sequel but it is a "re-imagining" of one of their most popular villains/characters from one of their most popular all time movies.

So Cap 2 finally on top or had Lego not reported its bullshit numbers yet?

LEGO isn't reported yet, but it is basically impossible for it to continue number 1 after this weekend.

Don't start with this shit. You're a MOD. It amazes me how Mods, You Tele and Ed keep this shit going but then cry foul when it gets out of control.

With more than 300 million first weekend (with only 60% of the overseas market), sadly the awful TF5 will do much more than 1 billion worldwide in the end of it's run.

Well, we'll see about the MUCH more thing. Depends on its domestic and China holds.
